What People Are Saying

This is a wonderful book and a superb guide to essential oils. The writer was very thorough and included recipes for skin, hair, mouth, feet, hands - let me say for every part of the body. The recipes are also easy to follow and come from things that are already in the home for eg., apple cider vinegar, mint leaves and witch hazel to name a few. I am new to making cosmetics so I wanted a book that would guide me to the use of the various essential oils - this book did not disappoint! All I wanted to know about essential oils was there. I can now tell the difference between fragrance oil and pure essential oil and also how to use them for my health and skin care. This book is a classic. a must have for everyone who wants to get in the organic skin care business. Beautifully written and so easy to work with. It is one of my favourites. Many thanks to the author Ms. Rebecca Park Totilo."

Amazon Reviewer - AMAZON REVIEW

"I enjoyed flipping through this book tremendously until I got to the page with "Peach Harvest Bath Salts" which called for not only Peach essential oil (does not exist, peach is only available in a fragrance oil, which is most certainly not organic in the least) and Vanilla essential oil, which also does not exist. Other than those oversights and the fact that she uses Melt and Pour base for soaps which depending on where you get them can either be cheapo detergent bases (typical craft store finds) or high quality semi natural bases (some online sites). If doubling or more the recipes none of the items that are exposed to water (scrubs mostly) should be used for very long as they are sure to be crawling with nasties after a few uses as none of them contain preservatives. The lotions could also be host to creepy molds and bacteria if left without preservatives as they contain water, If these items are just for your use alone that is fine and as is suggested the refrigerator is the place to store them, but if giving as gifts please read up on how to keep the items fresh for a long period of time so as not to expose the giftee to nasty molds and bacteria (not a nice gift).

I really do like this book, most of the recipes look to be easily made up and would offer some actual benefit due to the essential oils and the fact that they are made fresh and you know exactly what you are using on your skin."

Becky - AMAZON REVIEW

"This book is great. There are so many recipes and a lot of general wellness information. I bought this for my mother in law who makes her own deodorant, shampoo etc. because she doesn't like using chemical products. She opened it and could not stop reading. It was a hit. Some of the ingredients are not ones that one would necessarily find around the house but my priority was to give her something that would be a good jump off point to start experimenting with different scents and beauty products. The beauty of at-home beauty products is that the variations are infinite. This book has many many recipes and you can tweak each to your liking over and over again. Recommend."
